Closing the Distance has around 15 pro-staff members. On each episode you’ll witness several over the shoulder bowhunts. “Most of the staff lives in Texas, so naturally we hunt Texas a lot”, “Texas is a huge State that has lots of opportunities for hunters” explained host Matt Moore. Since Texas is so huge, you’ll see the staff chasing whitetails in East Texas, West Texas and the Hill County region. “But South Texas is my favorite place, the brush county is an awesome place to be in December”. Besides Texas, the staff regularly bowhunts the Mid-West. “We’ve slammed some giants up there”. “Everybody loves a good mid-west whitetail hunt.” Whitetails are the main focus point on “Closing the Distance” but wild hogs run a close second. “We have lots and lots of hogs here in my hometown, boy are they fun to bowhunt”. “I shot my first hog on film in 1997, spot and stalk”, I had no idea they would be such a huge topic these days. On each episode of “Closing the Distance” you’ll witness several exciting bowhunts, learn tips and most importantly hear from Pastor JMark Johns. “Bro Mark gives us a 60 second mini-sermon each week” described Matt. Bro Mark is a Pastor in Florida who also is a serious bowhunter. So his love of the outdoors and hunting knowledge fits in perfect with “Closing the Distance TV”.

Matt Moore, from the small town of Mt. Enterprise, Texas has been bowhunting since he was 12. “My plan was to film my bowhunts and make a video to help promote a scent business I started in 1997, so I bought a commercial grade camera and took to the woods. After the deer season was over I edited the video ‘Closing the Distance’ and put it in our mail order catalog. I showed the tape to several sponsors and they encouraged me to start a TV show. It took me a year to get everything in order and we aired our first episode in January 2000.” We’ve produced over 300 episodes and numerous DVD titles. The Lord has blessed me with great pro-staffers and sponsors to help with the show.
