About a year ago, Joey and I started talking about what made us truly happy.  We both had great jobs, very comfortable incomes, a nice home…all of the things most people say make them happy.  We realized quickly that what drove us and what makes us happy was helping and giving back to others.  As we looked around, we saw so many people doing this on a daily basis, not looking for recognition, just doing what was in their heart.  We wanted to do something to document our travels around the globe while spotlighting these stories of giving and the people who give of themselves.  In a world dominated by negative stories, we hope to show all the positives in the hunting community here at home in the US and abroad.

So with our love of hunting, combined with our desire to help others, we created Giving Back. It is more than a hunting show, it is our mission, our vision, and it’s what we live for. Following youths on their first hunt with their dads, to delivering meat from a harvest to a homeless shelter, and taking clothing to an orphanage in Africa, are just a few of the many stories we intend to share.  Through Giving Back, we hope to promote hunting, and hunters, in a positive, ethical way and to show who hunters really are, the true conservationists.  We are excited to see how many people we can reach with our message and how many lives we can affect in a positive way.  Giving Back is more than a hunting show; it’s our way of life.

Born the youngest of 3 girls and raised in Montana, I have always loved the outdoors.   Spending time at the lake or in the mountains was a big part of our family time together.  My mother passed away when I was 15 in a helicopter accident, and my dad was left with 3 teenage girls and no clue what to do.  His answer?  Buy a cabin at the lake…in the mountains of Montana.  We spent every weekend there, enjoying the outdoors with family.  It was our therapy.   I’ve been able to pass this passion down to my son Tyler, a young man that doesn’t pass up many fishing holes.  Over the past few years I have enjoyed learning to shoot my bow, my rifle, and have been able to hunt for bear, elk and deer.  I’ve also been fortunate enough to hunt in Africa, New Zealand, and Australia, and see first-hand the positive effects of hunting around the world.    Giving Back is my passion, my dream, and a journey I hope you will be part of.

As a 4th generation Montanan, I’ve always had a love for the outdoors. I grew up on a horse ranch in central Montana and it was here that my moral and value systems were shaped. I began hunting at a very young age, going out with my parents on hunts. They gave their time to teach me the ethics of hunting, and I’ve been able to pass this on to my 2 sons, Bryce and Cameron.  I’ve been lucky enough to hunt with them for over 15 years, for deer, elk, antelope, bear, bighorn sheep, Shiras moose, mountain goat and even plains game in Africa.  Watching them grow not only as hunters, but young men, has been very rewarding to me.  I’ve been fortunate to witness how many positive aspects there are to hunting, and I’m excited to bring these stories to light through Giving Back.  I’m honored to share this journey with my wife Joey, and excited to reach as many people as we can with our message.
